Soil Science and Plant Nutrition
The aim of the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, Bingöl University, is to carry out research to solve the problems of soil and plant production in the region, and to train Agricultural Engineers who are experts in their field and equipped with contemporary knowledge. In addition to education and training activities, various researches on the determination of some problems and solutions in the region's agriculture are also continuing.
Mission
A solution to local, national and international problems in a structure that can set an example in its environment, equipped with the necessary knowledge and experience, with the thought and ability to solve the problem, in order to protect, improve the quality and sustainable use of soil-water resources and natural environment, increase plant production and solve productivity problems and to produce, apply and disseminate knowledge for this solution.

The main research areas of the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition are;
Plant Nutrition, Soil Fertility, Fertilizers and Fertilization, Soil Chemistry, Soil Physics, Soil Mineralogy, Soil Biology, Soil Genesis, Soil Classification, Collective Survey and Mapping, Land Use Planning, Soil and Water Conservation, Soil Erosion, Soil-Water and Environment. It covers

Job opportunities
The graduates of the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition have the opportunity to work directly in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Agricultural Banks, State Hydraulic Works, Municipalities, public and private analysis laboratories, fertilizer factories, private farms and greenhouses. They can sell seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. In addition, Agricultural Engineers who are authorized in the preparation of Soil Survey and Mapping, Soil Conservation and Land Use Projects stipulated by the Soil Conservation and Land Use Law No. 5403 are only graduates of the Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Department.
